Rooted Retrofitting’s concrete grinding improves property safety and complies with the ADA (American Disabilities Act) or REAC (Real Estate Assessment Center) Standards.
ADA Standards
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 defines a ‘trip hazard’ as any vertical change of over 1/4 inch or more at any joint or crack. Since the ADA demands strict compliance, trip hazards represent a legal liability to our clients.
REAC Standards
HUD’s – Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) defines a ‘trip hazard’ as any vertical change of over 3/4 inch or more at any joint or crack. Since REAC demands are not as strict as ADA compliance, we work with our clients to detriment if the trip hazards represent a REAC or ADA liability and complete the removal as needed.
